Who are we? & Why are we doing this?Hello, we are Jeanne and Gary Nichols.
Gary has spent the first half of his life in the traditional business world, working for Fortune 500 companies, owning a real-estate business, and generally living life as an entrepreneur.
"Despite having varying levels of success in each of these areas I never felt the fulfillment or sense of purpose that I was seeking. It was only after I was introduced to the world of Non-Profit’s (working with a good number of senior citizens) that I knew I found my niche in life. Being among youth groups supported by seniors. I then began to understand what many non-profits both large and small need. It is the support system powered by a reciprocal force between youths & golden age'rs."
Jeanne has been working a career as a flight attendant with a major airline for the past 17 years. Prior to that she worked retail for a number of years. In both positions she has been exposed to a vast variety of people from all walks of life and ages, while requiring many different needs. Among them golden age'rs.
"I have found the real needs among the golden age'rs are actually the simplest. They just want people to slow down and take the time to listen to them, to give them a bit of companionship, to know that world knows that they still exist with something to offer. They offer the wisdom of age, their age offers their years of experience to adapt to the changes of life. They still have much of value left to offer us. I have witnessed all to often common practices to ignore, forget and prey on the elderly. Some close to me have been in these circumstances. I cannot change what has already taken place for them, but I can change behavior around me by my own actions. It feels great to offer a good service to golden age'rs a return to those who have been experts to us in many different ways for many years. It always feels good when I get a warm smile and/or hug for simply taking the time to listen or help them sit, stand, or share in their world of the Golden Age".
We believe youth is powered by the wisdom of an elder & longevity of a golden age'r™ is powered by the innocence of youth.
We found that through our experience with the golden age'rs™ this market is in need of assistance and better resources not just to aid their constituents but also to be of direct benefit within their own market. In this way not only would the cause be supported directly but with the golden age market benefiting this would also be of benefit to the generations following close behind, such as our own".
"Jeanne & I are in our 40's. Both of us have parents that are already there. My parents (Gary) are in their 80's. Jeanne's parents are in their 70's and she has grandparents in their 90's. Our generation has much to gain by working closely and aiding golden age'rs. We are not far behind the golden age market ourselves".
We created this site to enable golden age citizens to get more out of your time, money, and commitment. So you can see a return for your generosity. We are also doing this to give something back and in our own small way, make this world a better place.
As the site evolves more links, products, & services will continuously be added. At times we will be in the position of making a little money on some of these. In order to maintain the highest level of credibility and not distract from the giving nature of the site we will indicate any product or service we are involved with.
